hey! you're no Meadowlark!
First day of Spring, I went on a short birding jaunt out to the prairie grasslands east of town, looking for the first of the year western meadowlarks. I did find one, but I also found this little guy as well. He was with his miniature horse buddies hanging out in a road side pasture. What a charmer!

I remember my parents taking me on a road trip out west when I was a kid. I saw a little burrow like that and I wanted one soooo bad. I thought it was the cutest thing I'd ever seen! Still do. LOL
Hard to believe spring is here. Where does the winter go? (That's an oft raised question here in south Florida.)
Ooo, me too! We went to both Dakotas a lot when I was a kid from Virginia (Grandma was in N. Dakota). A burro licked my car window once and I was so excited I wouldn't let anyone wipe it off. Of course the next time we got gas the attendant did the windows all around. I wouldn't have to worry about THAT today.
I also have to comment on Tootie's comment--without trying to offend. William Safire once had a column about words that sound alike but are spelled different, and his best example was someone talking about "burrows" climbing down the Grand Canyon. "Clearly," he said, "this is a man who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground."
There's a large family of miniatures across the street. I see them at least twice a day on my way in and out. If I don't stop and visit, I wave.
