was it a faux Pas?

If you insist on committing a faux pas (dropping deer turds in front of the lady), she may think you are not what she is looking for in a boyfriend. You may find yourself all alone, wondering where she went.
Hi, Jerry "the Hen"!
By the way, this may not have been a match made in heaven,  he is a muley and she is a whitetail.
Their families might have objected.

dog Hysteria...

...makes you wonder what the heck is outside at 7am on a Sunday morning. This is what the faithful hound thought was about to burglarize the house or vandalize the birch tree. We see the does and fawns all the time, but we rarely get a glimpse of the Princes of the Forest except this time of year.
He was stunningly aloof and disdainful of a photographer barefooted and in pajamas.

the Twins

The mule deer twins who have grown up in the Neighborhood, they have gone from spindly-legged, spotted babes to rough coated young'uns experiencing their first winter. They were suspicious of me with the camera, but even more suspicious of the bouncy golden retriever who was peeking out his back door at them.

I am watching YOU

Their red-brown coats have been replaced with gray-brown, winter is coming. The long guard hairs of a white-tail's winter coat are two times longer than the summer hair, a thick undercoat develops to help insulate their bodies against the cold. Winter guard hairs are hollow and can be fluffed out to add extra air space for warmth, giving a sometimes ratty look to winter deer. The insulation is so effective that snow will lay unmelted on a deer's back during a storm, body heat is not lost enough to melt it off.
