in a sea of Lilacs

In a sea of lilac flowers and cloud of fragrance there is a flotilla of Red Admiral butterflies feasting on nectar.

I am soooo jealous. I love Florida, but we cannot grow rhubarb or lilacs. I'm remembering the lilac bushes around my Grandmother's farmhouse - things of beauty.

Marge,
Wish blogspot had smell-o-vision for you. There are so many lilacs blooming in our neighborhood it is almost overwhelmingly fragrant.

Seems the lilacs are late to bloom this year, but it's sure nice to see them all over again...except my yard of course. We planted an odd variety a few yrs ago and it never budged. Anywho, nice photo! I took some today of the red admiral myself. :o)
