Caroline, I've seen Blue Jays in my neighborhood. Heard them, too. So I purchased a peanut feeder for the Blue Jays a year ago and I have kept it filled with the best peanuts you can buy. Do I have Blue Jays? No! I have plenty of squirrels instead.
They (Blue Jays) are aggressive and not well-liked by many backyard birders but my Mom loved them to visit her yard in the city. That's why I'd love for them to visit me now.
