Upland Sandpiper
One of my favorite denizens of the shortgrass prairie, it is always a treat to find one on a fencepost on a summer afternoon.

I am just beyond the short grass prairie so I don't see these guys. I was brought up on the dry prairie and remember these birds. the grass land is so full of birds.
